Ms. Amy West, MSW, LCSW, CPP is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with diverse individuals, families, and professionals in the community for over 10 years. She has provided services in outpatient, community, and inpatient residential settings.
She has specific experience supporting individuals in all roles and phases of parenthood including pregnancy & infertility, postpartum, fatherhood, step-parenthood, and kinship/adoption/foster care. She is passionate about working with individuals experiencing concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and women’s issues. She has also provided support to helping professionals process burnout and improve work-life balance.
Amy has worked as a child-parent psychotherapist, supporting young children and their families to overcome and understand difficult behaviors, overwhelming emotions, and trauma. She is a rostered CPP provider. This therapy focuses on utilizing the caregiver & child relationship as a source of support and healing, and relies on play as the childs’ language during treatment. Amy is comfortable and competent to work with children of all ages 0+.
She is committed to providing an environment free of judgement and centered around each individual’s needs and experiences. Her therapeutic process is rooted in understanding how each person’s unique experiences, biology, and relationships have impacted decision making and thought processes, and targeted dysfunctional and unhelpful thinking patterns. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, & strengths based approaches that are individualized for each person.
